Details for Strines

Strines is a picturesque area of stunning rugged countryside in the Bradfield area of South Yorkshire, just to the North West of Sheffield and within the Peak District National Park.

The most famous landmark here is the Strines Reservoir, one of four reservoirs built on the surrounding moors. Strines sources its water mainly via the Foulstone Dike and the Strines Dike which are fed from the surrounding Derwent moors, and provides the water supply for the City of Sheffield in the valley below. Damflask is a popular venue for coarse fishing and sailing and the colorful sails of the boats can often be seen from the top of the reservoir.

The historic Strines Inn offers a welcome resting place for walkers and attracts visitors from miles around with its real ales and fine home cooked food.
