Outside is a lovely patio to relax and unwind or dine alfresco on warm summer evenings and savour the far reaching views. It is a haven for nature enthusiasts with abundant wildlife in the area, horses grazing in the meadows and walks from the doorstep into the countryside, enjoy woodland strolls or cycle along the winding leafy lanes with golf, fishing and horse riding available locally.

Cropton village has a good pub serving real ales and food whilst the market town of Pickering just 4 miles away has individual shops, restaurants, pubs and is home to the Steam Preservation Railway. It is an excellent base for exploring the natural beauty of the North York Moors National Park and just a short drive from the coastal resorts of Whitby, Scarborough and Filey. Nearby Dalby Forest offers cycle paths and picnic areas, with the Eden Camp War Museum and the City of York easily accessible for alternative days out.
